Why it happened, in plain English
The enforcement record sits under Factory6, the manufacturer, while the consumer announcement came from Relay Peak Research, the brand owner (doing business as Zen Principle Naturals). That split is normal and worth knowing when you search FDA’s database for a brand: the recall may be filed under the contract manufacturer’s name.
Per the company’s public announcement, FDA testing of the moringa leaf powder used to manufacture the capsules came back positive. The failure was upstream of the capsule line: contaminated powder came in the door and was encapsulated, and encapsulation adds no kill step. The product had been on sale nationwide since December 2025, mostly through Amazon.
Who else should care
Brands that use a contract manufacturer for botanical capsules, and contract manufacturers that accept client-supplied or broker-sourced powders. If you are the brand, your name may not appear on the enforcement record at all. If you are the manufacturer, it will.
Check whether your specification for incoming botanical powder includes your own microbiological test on receipt, or only a review of the supplier’s paperwork. This lot shipped for seven months on paperwork.
