Why it happened, in plain English

The filed reason is a supplier’s recall, quoted directly: the product was made with milk powder recalled by the supplier. PS Seasoning did nothing wrong in its own plant. It bought an ingredient, used it, and inherited the recall when the ingredient’s producer found Salmonella.

The brand names on the recalled products, Blackstone (manufactured for North Atlantic Imports) and Save A Lot, belong to companies two steps away from the dairy that made the powder.

Who else should care

Private-label seasoning and mix makers, and the brands that rely on them. The brand owner’s name appears on the package and in the press; the enforcement record names the blender; the cause sits with a dairy neither of them dealt with directly.

Check: your supplier-notification clause and your ability to identify every finished lot that used a given ingredient lot within the same day.
